What To Do

Vancouver, Canada

Vancouver is the major city on the west coast of Canada and like all major cities, has several diverse and distinct neighborhoods (Downtown, Granville, Kits). But not many cities have the nature that Van does - Stanley Park, Grouse mountain, and several beaches combined with the urban centers make Vancouver a unique and beautiful place to visit!

Where to go

(This view is north, you drive through the mountains to Whistler)

Downtown Vancouver

The center of the city, located north of Granville and south of North Van, downtown Van has the nightlight, many restaurants and fun neighborhoods to walk around and explore: Yaletown, Gastown, Robsen Street

Grouse Grind (Mountain)

There are three mountains directly north of North Vancouver: Cypress, Seymour, and Grouse. The third has a hike - 2.5 KM / 1.5 MI straight to the top (1k M / 3.6k Ft)! John has always completed the grind in under 60 minutes (average time is 2-2.5 hrs).

Stanley Park

The great greenery just north of downtown Van, Stanley Park is a wildlife preserve (watch out for coyotes!), with English bay, Second beach, and Third beach (the best!), as well as a walk/run/biking path along the seawall that circumvents the park
